Situated in the larger Doubtless Bay, between historical Mangonui village and the Taipa estuary.
This picturesque bay with a pinkish sandy beach was the landing point of the first Trans-Tasman telegraph cable.
Operating between 1902 and 1912, the telegraph station linked Australia, Canada and Norfolk Island.
